Elise Wiesinger
Violin
Elise Wiesinger is a violinist from British Columbia who began her studies at age four in Vancouver. She is passionate about the power of live music and community engagement through music to open hearts and foster empathy and depth of feeling in an often busy and overwhelming world. Elise has performed as a soloist with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Kelowna Pops Orchestra, in addition to performing recitals and chamber music concerts throughout the Okanagan valley, and Toronto.
Elise has received several awards from festivals throughout B.C., including placings of Runner Up and Honourable Mentions at Performing Arts B.C. She has been awarded the standing of First Class Honours with Distinction in several Royal Conservatory of Music Violin Performance Exams. Elise has played in several orchestras in B.C., Ontario, and Quebec, and is an avid chamber musician.
Elise holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the University of Toronto Scholars Award upon her acceptance. She studied with Erika Raum at UofT and has enjoyed spending her recent summers studying and performing at summer festivals in B.C., Quebec, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
